Showing solidarity together.

This is what we stand for.

At B.U.D., we actively aim to ensure that each and every one of us can lead a self-determined life without fear. With our work, we take effective action against racism; anti-Semitism; antiziganism; social Darwinism; hostility towards members of the LGBTIQ* community; and other elements of right-wing ideologies.

What we do.

Our work can be divided into three fields.

Counselling.

We counsel victims, their friends and families as well as witnesses of right-wing, racist and anti-Semitic violence after an assault.

Support.

We support victims and their families practically and politically depending on their individual needs.

Documentation.

We provide information on right-wing violence and document according incidents in Bavaria.

Our definition.

What is right-wing violence?

Right-wing violence manifests in many different ways. An incident doesn’t necessarily have to be a physical assault carried out by organised neo-Nazis to be classified as right-wing violence; online threats may also be classified as violent with right-wing motives.

Professional and qualified.

Our team’s qualifications.

At B.U.D., our team of counsellors is made up of salaried and freelance employees from across Bavaria. They are deployed in dependence of the qualifications that the respective counselling calls for.

Our counsellors are all specialised in different fields. They have specifically been trained to work as victim counsellors and regularly take part in further trainings, while collegial case consultations and supervisions ensure the professionalism of our counselling services.

In addition, all of our counsellors agree to comply with the qualification standards defined by VBRG, the Association of Counseling Centers for Victims of Right-Wing, Racist and Anti-Semitic Violence in Germany.

Quality standards.

In cooperation with the German Youth Institute (DJI), the Network of Counseling Centers for Victims of Right-Wing, Racist and Anti-Semitic Violence in Germany has defined quality standards for services rendered at counselling centres.

For more than 10 years, the counselling centres have been committed to taking the victim’s perspective in a professional fashion; the quality standards reflect our professional knowledge and counselling expertise. The document defines the specifics of right-wing violence, describes the targets and working principles of counselling projects and illuminates key processes thereof, with the aim of making it easier to begin working specifically with victims of right-wing violence.
